Introduction to Stef du Plessis for Financial Services Industry

For the Financial Services Industry

Note for the introducer: "du Plessis" is pronounced as a three-syllable word: doo-pleh-see

A near school dropout who then worked as a farm labourer and a factory hand... Stef du Plessis went on to accomplish three very successful careers. In the first, he became the decorated commander of an elite Parachute Battalion. Then he joined the Financial Services industry, where he became an MDRT Court of the Table qualifier... which lead to him becoming a professional speaker and leadership development practitioner... and saw him obtaining a Masters degree in leadership... with distinction!

He qualified for an IQA and for MDRT for every one of the almost 15-years that he spent in the financial services industry until the early 90’s, became a sales manager in record time, and was a regional chair of the LUA of South Africa. Returning to full time sales, he then built a successful brokerage together with his father Ken – himself a life-long industry veteran.

An invitation to present a concurrent afternoon session at the Million Dollar Round Table in New Orleans gave birth to a new chapter... and a few short years later he was back... this time on the main platform in Anaheim!

For more than a decade now Stef has been consulting and speaking internationally. Today he heads up a team of about 15 people development specialists under the banner of Stef du Plessis and Associates. Whilst minimum qualification is a relevant Masters degree, almost half the team holds a PhD. They also boast a Professor of Leadership, and a number of published authors. Together they grow people at all levels by focusing on self-mastery, teamwork, and leadership.

He has spoken at premier Life Assurance and Financial Planning conventions around the globe... from Africa to Asia... and from South America to Canada – and is consistently rated by delegates as the top speaker on the programme. He has been a guest on radio and TV, and has been the "mind-coach" for the SA Olympic Soccer team.

The Council on Education in Management brands him as "one of South Africa's most influential motivators", while the Dubai based Institute for International Research bills him as "one of the world's leading practitioners when it comes to teams and team leadership".

Here to help you in your pursuit of personal effectiveness and self-mastery, please help me welcome Stef du Plessis...
